Installation of new infra-red heating - Thurlestone, Devon
Client: Thurlestone Parish Hall
Brief: Installation of a modern style of electrical heating plus new distribution board and internet abled controls
Project Value: Undisclosed
Completed March 2021, on-time, and our client was very happy with the end result. This was completed directly for Thurlestone Parish hall, in the beautiful Kingsbridge, Devon. The brief was to install new infra-red commercial heaters, to take-over the duties of heating the hall by way of an oil heating system. The new infra-red medium intensity heaters are very efficient, and with today's smart controls proved to be very easy to set-up and control for the hall's users. To complete the project AGW Electrical needed to install a new three-phase distribution board in the electrical cupboard. As our intent was to install four radial circuits in the roof-space, controlled by contactors which would be connected to a smart-relay to handle and spread the load. We installed a new Schneider distribution board, complete with extension box and contactors. Within the contactor enclosure sits the WIFI powered relay. This connects the heating equipment to the new Salus Smart-hub. Heating wise we installed 8 x 3.2KW medium intensity heaters. They use infra-red technology, and start-up is instant. Controls wise, we used a Salus WIFI Smart-hub. This picks up the smart relay in the distribution board which brings the contactors/heaters on and off as required, we also installed a Salus wireless thermostat. To give extra control, we installed 2 x Salus Smart buttons. Which give them quick access to: 1/2 hour, 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours boost capabilities. All equipment is set-up to the Salus app, which can be downloaded from Google Play or Apple App stores, so that we - from our offices in Birmingham, or the Parish hall themselves down in Devon, can bring on at will, or set up programs to bring on the heating anytime they want, they can also set up routines to bring them on or off when the smart buttons are pressed and then off again once it gets to desired temperature. If AGW Electrical (Services) Ltd can help you with any electrical heating requirements, all of our partner manufacturers will gladly design a scheme to give you optimum heat for your style of building. This was a nice project for AGW, having already built up a long term relationship with IHP the manufacturer of the heating products, which you can find at https://infraredheaterpanels.co.uk/ and then being able to build up a relationship with the parish hall down in Devon. All the different parts of the chain were able to combine and give the customer an installation that has exceeded expectations.
